House 0223: Relating to Medication/Administering to Children ------------------------------------------------------------------

H223     GENERAL BILL by Murman; (CO-SPONSORS) Roberson  (Similar CS/S 1140,
Compare H 1275, H 1379, CS/1ST ENG/S 1578, CS/CS/1ST ENG/S 2262)
Medication/Administering to Children; specifies that parent's refusal to
administer psychotropic medication to child shall not constitute grounds
for CFS Dept. to take child into custody; provides that it is unlawful
for certain child care facility personnel to administer medication to
child without written authorization; requires district school board
policies to prohibit personnel from recommending use of said medications
for students, etc. Amends Chs. 39, 1006; creates 402.3196. EFFECTIVE
DATE: 07/01/2004.
