Senate 1140: Relating to Medication/Administering to Children ------------------------------------------------------------------

S1140    GENERAL BILL/CS by Children and Families; Cowin; (CO-SPONSORS) Wise;
Wilson (Similar H 0223, Compare H 1275, H 1379, CS/1ST ENG/S 1578,
CS/CS/1ST ENG/S 2262)
Medication/Administering to Children; provides that refusal of parent,
legal guardian, or other person responsible for child's welfare to
administer or consent to administration of any psychotropic medication
to child does not, in & of itself, constitute grounds for dept. to take
child into custody; prohibits specified persons working in certain
facilities from administering medications to child without written
authorization of child's parent or legal guardian, etc. Amends FS.
EFFECTIVE DATE: 07/01/2004.
