How do I change my Internet home page to flsenate.gov?

Internet Explorer
  • On the Menu Bar, click Tools.
  • Select Internet Options.
  • Select the General Tab.
  • Click in the address box and type http://www.flsenate.gov/
  • Click Apply.
  • Click OK.

Netscape Navigator
  • On the Menu Bar, click Edit.
  • Select Preferences.
  • On the left side of the screen select Navigator.
  • On the right side of the screen locate Home Page. Type http://www.flsenate.gov/.
  • Click OK.

How do I print a long document from Internet Explorer 5 to the HP ii printer?
  • The HP ii does not have enough memory to print a long document. Only five (5) pages at a time can be printed.
  • On the Menu Bar, click File.
  • Select Print.
  • Locate Pages From and type in the first page number of the five page numbers.
  • Press the Tab key.
  • Type in the last page number of the five page numbers.
  • Click OK.
  • Repeat these steps until all needed pages have been printed.

Why is it that every time Internet Explorer5 is opened, an error message opens indicating flsenate.gov is unable to be displayed?
  • Follow the steps above to change the home page to flsenate.gov.
  • Close and reopen Internet Explorer 5.
  • flsenate.gov should open without problems.

How do I download a file off the Internet?
  • Right click on target file
  • Select Save As.
  • At the top of the page click the Down Arrow to the left of Save As.
  • Select Desktop.
  • Click Save.

How do I print from the Internet Explorer 5 without losing the right or left column of the page?
  • The paper definition needs to be changed to landscape.
  • On the Menu Bar click on File.
  • Select Page Setup.
  • Change it to Landscape.
  • Click OK.

How to delete all the history from the Internet?

Internet Explorer
  • On the Menu Bar click on Tools.
  • Select Internet Options.
  • In the middle of the page under Temporary Internet files, click Delete Files.
  • At the bottom of the page under History, click Clear History.
  • Click OK.
  • On the Desktop, right click the Recycle Bin.
  • Select Empty Recycle Bin.
  • Click Yes.

Netscape Navigator
  • On the Menu Bar click on Edit.
  • Select Preferences.
  • On the left side of the screen click the + to the left of Advanced.
  • Click one time on Cache.
  • On the right side of the screen click on Clear Memory Cache.
  • Click OK.
  • Next click on Clear Disk Cache.
  • Click OK.
  • Click OK to close the dialog box.

What do I do if I lose top and bottom of Internet Explorer?
  • Press the F11 key. The view could have been changed to Full Screen.
  • Or, hold down the ALT key and press the Space Bar one time and release the ALT key. This should drop down a menu in the upper left hand corner of the screen.
  • Select Restore.
  • If neither of these options works reboot your PC.

What do I do if I lose the buttons for STOP and BACK from my Internet Explorer5?
  • On the Menu Bar, click on View.
  • Select Toolbars.
  • Select Standard Buttons.

How do I copy a House analysis from the Internet into WordPerfect?
  • On the Acrobat Toolbar, click on the Text Selector Tool (the large T).
  • Click at the top of the document and drag through the document to the end.
  • On the Acrobat Toolbar, click on the Copy Tool (the two sheets of paper side by side.)
  • In WordPerfect click on the Paste Tool.
  • The document will require formatting changes.

How do I download a PDF document from flsenate.gov to my computer?

PDF stands for "Portable Document Format." PDF preserves the original look of the document almost exactly: fonts, photos, graphics and layout all appear as they do in the original.

  • Saving the file to the Desktop is recommended. It is not wise to save a PDF file in a word processor, as the file will not display properly.
