A bill to be entitled
2An act relating to public roadways; requiring that public
3roadways and bridges be designed, constructed, and
4maintained in a manner that does not impede existing
5access of adjacent property owners; prohibiting the
6Department of Transportation from dividing state highways
7or erecting media barriers in an area zoned for business
8use without approval of the project by the governing body
9of the affected area; providing an effective date.
11Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
13     Section 1.  The design, construction, or maintenance of
14public streets, roads, highways, and bridges may not impede the
15existing access of adjacent property owners. The Department of
16Transportation may not divide state highways or erect media
17barriers in areas that are zoned for business use within a
18county or municipality without the approval of such activities
19by a majority vote of the governing body of the county or
21     Section 2.  This act shall take effect July 1, 2010.
