A bill to be entitled
2An act relating to the Pari-mutuel Wagering Trust Fund;
3amending s. 550.135, F.S.; providing for use of certain
4funds received from regulation of slot machine facilities;
5providing an effective date.

7Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

9     Section 1.  Subsection (2) of section 550.135, Florida
10Statutes, is amended, and subsection (3) is added to that
11section, to read:
12     550.135  Division of moneys derived under this law.--All
13moneys that are deposited with the Chief Financial Officer to
14the credit of the Pari-mutuel Wagering Trust Fund shall be
15distributed as follows:
16     (2)  All unappropriated funds in excess of $1.5 million in
17the Pari-mutuel Wagering Trust Fund, collected pursuant to this
18chapter, shall be deposited with the Chief Financial Officer to
19the credit of the General Revenue Fund.
20     (3)  The slot machine license fee, the slot machine
21occupational license fee, and the compulsive or addictive
22gambling prevention program fee collected pursuant to ss.
23551.106, 551.107(2)(a)1., and 551.118 shall be used to fund the
24direct and indirect operating expenses of the division's slot
25machine regulation operations and to provide funding for the
26relevant enforcement activities of the Department of Law
27Enforcement in accordance with authorized appropriations. Funds
28deposited into the Pari-mutuel Wagering Trust Fund pursuant to
29ss. 551.106, 551.107(2)(a)1., and 551.118 shall be reserved in
30the trust fund for the direct and indirect operating expenses of
31slot machine regulation operations for the subsequent fiscal
32year. Any unappropriated funds in excess of the division's slot
33machine regulation appropriations for the subsequent fiscal year
34shall be deposited with the Chief Financial Officer to the
35credit of the General Revenue Fund.
36     Section 2.  This act shall take effect upon becoming a law.
