68 Section 1. Doolittle Raiders Highway designated; Department
69 of Transportation to erect suitable markers.—
70 (1) That portion of State Road 285 in Okaloosa and Walton
71 Counties which is located north of College Boulevard in
72 Niceville is designated as “Doolittle Raiders Highway.”
73 (2) The Department of Transportation is directed to erect
74 suitable markers designating Doolittle Raiders Highway as
75 described in subsection (1).
76 Section 2. Beach Highway designated; Department of
77 Transportation to erect suitable markers.—
78 (1) That portion of U.S. 331 from the Alabama state line to
79 U.S. 98 in Walton County is designated as “The Beach Highway.”
80 (2) The Department of Transportation is directed to erect
81 suitable markers designating The Beach Highway as described in
82 subsection (1).
83 Section 3. Command Sergeant Major Gary Lee Littrell Medal
84 of Honor Causeway and Bridge designated; Department of
85 Transportation to erect suitable markers.—
86 (1) That portion of State Road 682 (Pinellas Bayway) from
87 State Road 699 (Gulf Boulevard) to U.S. 19 in Pinellas County is
88 designated as “Command Sergeant Major Gary Lee Littrell Medal of
89 Honor Causeway and Bridge.”
90 (2) The Department of Transportation is directed to erect
91 suitable markers designating the Command Sergeant Major Gary Lee
92 Littrell Medal of Honor Causeway and Bridge as described in
93 subsection (1).
94 Section 4. Perdido Key Parkway designated; Department of
95 Transportation to erect suitable markers.—
96 (1) That portion of State Road 292 from Blue Angel Parkway
97 to the beginning of Perdido Key Drive in Escambia County is
98 designated as “Perdido Key Parkway.”
99 (2) The Department of Transportation is directed to erect
100 suitable markers designating Perdido Key Parkway as described in
101 subsection (1).
102 Section 5. Andrew J. Capeletti Memorial Ramp designated;
103 Department of Transportation to erect suitable markers.—
104 (1) The ramp that connects northbound Homestead Extension
105 of Florida’s Turnpike to northbound Interstate 75 in Miami-Dade
106 County is designated as “Andrew J. Capeletti Memorial Ramp.”
107 (2) The Department of Transportation is directed to erect
108 suitable markers designating Andrew J. Capeletti Memorial Ramp
109 as described in subsection (1).
110 Section 6. Jose Regueiro Avenue designated; Department of
111 Transportation to erect suitable markers.—
112 (1) That portion of W. 20th Avenue in the City of Hialeah
113 between W. 44th Place and Okeechobee Road in Miami-Dade County.
114 (2) The Department of Transportation is directed to erect
115 suitable markers designating Jose Regueiro Avenue as described
116 in subsection (1).
117 Section 7. That portion of S.W. 67th Avenue (Ludlam Road)
118 between Bird Road and S.W. 136th Street in the City of South
119 Miami and the Village of Pinecrest in Miami-Dade County is
120 designated as a state historic road. No public funds shall be
121 expended for any of the following purposes:
122 (1) To cut or remove any tree having a diameter at its
123 thickest part in excess of 6 inches within 35 feet of either
124 side of the paved surface of the road or to engage in an
125 activity which requires the removal without the replacement of
126 such tree.
127 (2) The alteration of the physical dimensions or location
128 of S.W. 67th Avenue, the median strip thereof, or the land
129 adjacent thereto, except:
130 (a) Routine or emergency utilities maintenance activities
131 necessitated to maintain the road as a utility corridor.
132 (b) Modifications or improvements made to provide for
133 vehicular ingress and egress of governmental safety vehicles.
134 (c) Alterations, modifications, or improvements made for
135 the purpose of enhancing life safety vehicular use or pedestrian
136 use, or both, of S.W. 67th Avenue, as long as such alterations,
137 modifications, or improvements are heard in a public hearing and
138 subsequently approved by the governing board of the local
139 government in which such alterations, modifications, or
140 improvements are located.
141 (3) Nothing in this section shall be construed to prevent
142 the ordinary maintenance and repair of the road or structures,
143 provided the physical dimensions and location of the road and
144 the appearance of any structure are preserved. However, the
145 preservation of the road shall take priority over considerations
146 of traffic management, and the public safety shall not be
147 construed to require alterations in the road when alternative
148 means promoting safety, including more restrictive traffic
149 regulations, are available.
150 (4) The Division of Historical Resources of the Department
151 of State shall provide for the erection of suitable markers on
152 and along that portion of S.W. 67th Avenue described in this
153 section.
154 Section 8. Trooper Claude Baker Memorial Highway
155 designated; Department of Transportation to erect suitable
156 markers.—
157 (1) That portion of State Road 45 in Sarasota County from
158 Constitution Boulevard in Sarasota to River Road in Venice is
159 designated as “Trooper Claude Baker Memorial Highway.”
160 (2) The Department of Transportation is directed to erect
161 suitable markers designating Trooper Claude Baker Memorial
162 Highway as described in subsection (1).
163 Section 9. Gretchen Evans Memorial Bridge designated;
164 Department of Transportation to erect suitable markers.—
165 (1) The bridge on U.S. 98 in Wakulla County at the Wakulla
166 River is designated as “Gretchen Evans Memorial Bridge.”
167 (2) The Department of Transportation is directed to erect
168 suitable markers designating Gretchen Evans Memorial Bridge as
169 described in subsection (1).
170 Section 10. Earl S. “Coach” Kitchings Avenue designated;
171 Department of Transportation to erect suitable markers.—
172 (1) That portion of Edgewood Avenue West in Duval County
173 from New Kings Road (U.S. 1) to Lem Turner Road is designated
174 the “Earl S. ‘Coach’ Kitchings Avenue.”
175 (2) The Department of Transportation is directed to erect
176 suitable markers designating the Earl S. “Coach” Kitchings
177 Avenue as described in subsection (1).
178 Section 11. Coach Jermaine D. Hall Memorial Highway
179 designated; Department of Transportation to erect suitable
180 markers.—
181 (1) That portion of I-95 from Baymeadows Road in Duval
182 County to State Road 16 in St. Johns County is designated the
183 “Coach Jermaine D. Hall Memorial Highway.”
184 (2) The Department of Transportation is directed to erect
185 suitable markers designating the Coach Jermaine D. Hall Memorial
186 Highway as described in subsection (1).
187 Section 12. Veterans Memorial Highway designated;
188 Department of Transportation to erect suitable markers.—
189 (1) That portion of State Road 26 between the Levy County
190 line and the Alachua County line in Gilchrist County is
191 designated as “Veterans Memorial Highway.”
192 (2) The Department of Transportation is directed to erect
193 suitable markers designating Veterans Memorial Highway as
194 described in subsection (1).
195 Section 13. Sergeant Ricky Lord Road designated; Department
196 of Transportation to erect suitable markers.—
197 (1) That portion of State Road 26 between the Levy County
198 line and County Road 313 in Gilchrist County is designated as
199 “Sergeant Ricky Lord Road.”
200 (2) The Department of Transportation is directed to erect
201 suitable markers designating Sergeant Ricky Lord Road as
202 described in subsection (1).
203 Section 14. Julia Tuttle Way designated; Department of
204 Transportation to erect suitable markers.—
205 (1) That portion of Biscayne Boulevard Way between S.E. 2nd
206 Avenue and U.S. 1 (Biscayne Boulevard) in Miami-Dade County is
207 designated as “Julia Tuttle Way.”
208 (2) The Department of Transportation is directed to erect
209 suitable markers designating Julia Tuttle Way as described in
210 subsection (1).
211 Section 15. Cpl. Christopher Lee Poole, Jr., Memorial
212 Highway designated; Department of Transportation to erect
213 suitable markers.—
214 (1) That portion of Old U.S. Highway 441 in Mt. Dora from
215 the intersection of State Road 19A to Alexander Street is
216 designated the “Cpl. Christopher Lee Poole, Jr., Memorial
217 Highway.”
218 (2) The Department of Transportation is directed to erect
219 suitable markers designating the Cpl. Christopher Lee Poole,
220 Jr., Memorial Highway as described in subsection (1).
221 Section 16. Sgt. Frederico G. Borjas Memorial Highway
222 designated; Department of Transportation to erect suitable
223 markers.—
224 (1) That portion of State Road 44 east of Eustis beginning
225 at the intersection of County Road 44 and ending just west of
226 County Road 439 is designated the “Sgt. Frederico G. Borjas
227 Memorial Highway.”
228 (2) The Department of Transportation is directed to erect
229 suitable markers designating the Sgt. Frederico G. Borjas
230 Memorial Highway as described in subsection (1).
231 Section 17. Johnny C. Treadwell Memorial Highway
232 designated; Department of Transportation to erect suitable
233 markers.—
234 (1) That portion of State Road 46 near Sorrento from Round
235 Lake Road to County Road 437 is designated the “Johnny C.
236 Treadwell Memorial Highway.”
237 (2) The Department of Transportation is directed to erect
238 suitable markers designating the Johnny C. Treadwell Memorial
239 Highway as described in subsection (1).
240 Section 18. Orange Bowl Way designated; Department of
241 Transportation to erect suitable markers.—
242 (1) Northwest 77th Court in Miami Lakes is designated as
243 “Orange Bowl Way.”
244 (2) The Department of Transportation is directed to erect
245 suitable markers designating Orange Bowl Way as described in
246 subsection (1).
247 Section 19. Purple Heart Highway designated; Department of
248 Transportation to erect suitable markers.—
249 (1) That portion of U.S. Highway 27 between the Florida
250 Georgia border in Gadsden County and Biscayne Bay in Miami-Dade
251 County is designated as “Purple Heart Highway.”
252 (2) The Department of Transportation is directed to erect
253 suitable markers designating Purple Heart Highway as described
254 in subsection (1).
255 Section 20. Heather Hurd Memorial Highway designated;
256 Department of Transportation to erect suitable markers.—
257 (1) That portion of U.S. Highway 27 in Polk County between
258 Sand Mine Road and U.S. Highway 192 is designated as “Heather
259 Hurd Memorial Highway.”
260 (2) The Department of Transportation is directed to erect
261 suitable markers designating Heather Hurd Memorial Highway as
262 described in subsection (1).
263 Section 21. Michael G. Rippe Parkway designated; Department
264 of Transportation to erect suitable markers.—
265 (1) Upon its completion, that portion of SR 739 in Lee
266 County known as the Metro Parkway Extension between Six Mile
267 Cypress Parkway and U.S. 41/Alico Road is designated as “Michael
268 G. Rippe Parkway.”
269 (2) The Department of Transportation is directed to erect
270 suitable markers designating Michael G. Rippe Parkway as
271 described in subsection (1).
272 Section 22. Earl Roland Lewis and Eloise Allen Lewis Road
273 designated; Department of Transportation to erect suitable
274 markers.—
275 (1) That portion of County Road 251 in Lafayette County
276 between U.S. 27 and S.W. CR 534 is designated as “Earl Roland
277 Lewis and Eloise Allen Lewis Road.”
278 (2) The Department of Transportation is directed to erect
279 suitable markers designating Earl Roland Lewis and Eloise Allen
280 Lewis Road.
281 Section 23. K. Earl Durden Highway designated; Department
282 of Transportation to erect suitable markers.—
283 (1) That portion of State Road 79 in Bay County from U.S.
284 Highway 98 to the B.V. Buchanan Bridge in West Bay is designated
285 as “K. Earl Durden Highway.”
286 (2) The Department of Transportation is directed to erect

288 in subsection (1).
289 Section 24. Colonel Bud Day Boulevard designated;
290 Department of Transportation to erect suitable markers.—
291 (1) That portion of State Road 397 from Government Avenue
292 to the North gate of Eglin Air Force Base in Okaloosa County is
293 designated as “Colonel Bud Day Boulevard.”
294 (2) The Department of Transportation is directed to erect

297 Section 25. Miss Lillie Williams Boulevard designated;
298 Department of Transportation to erect suitable markers.—
299 (1) That portion of N.W. 79th Street between N.W. 6th
300 Avenue and E. 12th Avenue in Miami-Dade County is designated as
301 “Miss Lillie Williams Boulevard.”
302 (2) The Department of Transportation is directed to erect
303 suitable markers designating Miss Lillie Williams Boulevard as
304 described in subsection (1).
305 Section 26. Army Sergeant Daniel L. McCall Memorial Highway
306 designated; Department of Transportation to erect suitable
307 markers.—
308 (1) That portion of U.S. Highway 90 between Avalon
309 Boulevard and Pace Patriot Boulevard in the City of Pace in
310 Santa Rosa County is designated as “Army Sergeant Daniel L.
311 McCall Memorial Highway.”
312 (2) The Department of Transportation is directed to erect
313 suitable markers designating Army Sergeant Daniel L. McCall
314 Memorial Highway as described in subsection (1).
315 Section 27. Anthony J. Perez Street designated; Department
316 of Transportation to erect suitable markers.—
317 (1) That portion of 40th Street/Bird Road between 102nd
318 Avenue and 117th Avenue in Miami-Dade County is designated as
319 “Anthony J. Perez Street.”
320 (2) The Department of Transportation is directed to erect
321 suitable markers designating Anthony J. Perez Street as
322 described in subsection (1).
323 Section 28. John Torrese Family Road designated; Department
324 of Transportation to erect suitable markers.—
325 (1) That portion of State Road 997 between S.W. 288th
326 Street and S.W. 344th Street in Miami-Dade County is designated
327 as “John Torrese Family Road.”
328 (2) The Department of Transportation is directed to erect
329 suitable markers designating John Torrese Family Road as
330 described in subsection (1).
331 Section 29. Manuel Capo Way designated; Department of
332 Transportation to erect suitable markers.—
333 (1) That portion of S.W. 88th Street between S.W. 137th
334 Avenue and S.W. 142nd Avenue in Miami-Dade County is designated
335 as “Manuel Capo Way.”
336 (2) The Department of Transportation is directed to erect
337 suitable markers designating Manuel Capo Way as described in
338 subsection (1).
339 Section 30. Manuel Capo Boulevard designated; Department of
340 Transportation to erect suitable markers.—
341 (1) That portion of S.W. 8th Street between S.W. 24th
342 Avenue and S.W. 27th Avenue in Miami-Dade County is designated
343 as “Manuel Capo Boulevard.”
344 (2) The Department of Transportation is directed to erect
345 suitable markers designating Manuel Capo Boulevard as described
346 in subsection (1).
347 Section 31. Lt. Colonel Charles Brown Memorial Highway
348 designated; Department of Transportation to erect suitable
349 markers.—
350 (1) That portion of U.S. Highway 1 (State Road 5) between
351 S.W. 104th Street and S.W. 112th Street in Miami-Dade County is
352 designated as “Lt. Colonel Charles Brown Memorial Highway.”
353 (2) The Department of Transportation is directed to erect
354 suitable markers designating Lt. Colonel Charles Brown Memorial
355 Highway as described in subsection (1).
356 Section 32. Subsection (1) of section 585.61, Florida
357 Statutes, is amended to read:
358 585.61 Animal disease diagnostic laboratories.—
359 (1) There is hereby created and established an animal
360 disease diagnostic laboratory in Osceola County and Suwannee
361 County. The laboratory complex in Osceola County is designated
362 as the “Bronson Animal Disease Diagnostic Laboratory.”
363 Section 33. Section 17 of chapter 2008-256, Laws of
364 Florida, is amended to read:
365 Section 17. Dr. Jose A. Marques Boulevard designated;
366 Department of Transportation to erect suitable markers.—
367 (1) That portion of 8th Street between S.W. 107th Avenue
368 and S.W. 127th 117th Avenue in Miami-Dade County is designated
369 as “Dr. Jose A. Marques Boulevard.”
370 (2) The Department of Transportation is directed to erect
371 suitable markers designating Dr. Jose A. Marques Boulevard as
372 described in subsection (1).
373 Section 34. Kenneth H. “Buddy” MacKay and Jim H. Williams
374 Bridge designated; Department of Transportation to erect
375 suitable markers.—
376 (1) The bridge on S.W. 17th Street between S.W. 12th Avenue
377 and S. Pine Avenue in the City of Ocala in Marion County is
378 designated as “Kenneth H. ‘Buddy’ MacKay and Jim H. Williams
379 Bridge.”
380 (2) The Department of Transportation is directed to erect
381 suitable markers designating the Kenneth H. “Buddy” MacKay and
382 Jim H. Williams Bridge as described in subsection (1).
383 Section 35. Seminole Way designated; Department of
384 Transportation to erect suitable markers.—
385 (1) That portion of State Road 417 between Interstate 4 and
386 the Seminole County southern boundary in Seminole County is
387 designated as “Seminole Way.”
388 (2) The Department of Transportation is directed to erect
389 suitable markers designating Seminole Way as described in
390 subsection (1).
391 Section 36. Judge Perry Wells Highway designated;
392 Department of Transportation to erect suitable markers.—
393 (1) That portion of State Road 277 between State Road 79
394 and U.S. Highway 90/State Road 10/Jackson Avenue in Washington
395 County is designated as “Judge Perry Wells Highway.”
396 (2) The Department of Transportation is directed to erect
397 suitable markers designating Judge Perry Wells Highway as
398 described in subsection (1).
399 Section 37. Vernon Bridge designated; Department of
400 Transportation to erect suitable markers.—
401 (1) Upon completion of construction, Bridge number 610147
402 and Bridge number 610146 on State Road 79 north of the City of
403 Vernon in Washington County are designated as “Vernon Bridge.”
404 (2) The Department of Transportation is directed to erect
405 suitable markers designating Vernon Bridge as described in
406 subsection (1).
407 Section 38. Richard Raczkoski Memorial Highway designated;
408 Department of Transportation to erect suitable markers.—
409 (1) That portion of State Road 60 between 43rd Avenue in
410 Vero Beach and Interstate 95 in Indian River County is
411 designated as “Richard Raczkoski Memorial Highway.”
412 (2) The Department of Transportation is directed to erect
413 suitable markers designating Richard Raczkoski Memorial Highway
414 as described in subsection (1).
415 Section 39. Doctor Thomas Eliot “Doc Tommy” McBride Road
416 designated; Department of Transportation to erect suitable
417 markers.—
418 (1) That portion of County Road 435 between Kelly Park Road
419 and Clarcona-Ocoee Road in Orange County is designated as
420 “Doctor Thomas Eliot ‘Doc Tommy’ McBride Road.”
421 (2) The Department of Transportation is directed to erect
422 suitable markers designating Doctor Thomas Eliot “Doc Tommy”
423 McBride Road as described in subsection (1).
424 Section 40. Herbert Lee Simon Avenue designated; Department
425 of Transportation to erect suitable markers.—
426 (1) That portion of S.W. 27th Avenue (State Road 9) between
427 S.W. 22nd Street and U.S. 1 in the City of Miami in Miami-Dade
428 County is designated as “Herbert Lee Simon Avenue.”
429 (2) The Department of Transportation is directed to erect
430 suitable markers designating Herbert Lee Simon Avenue as
431 described in subsection (1).
432 Section 41. Otis Beckford Memorial Highway designated;
433 Department of Transportation to erect suitable markers.—
434 (1) That portion of State Road 200 between the
435 Marion/Citrus County line and County Road 484 in Marion County
436 is designated as “Otis Beckford Memorial Highway.”
437 (2) The Department of Transportation is directed to erect
438 suitable markers designating Otis Beckford Memorial Highway as
439 described in subsection (1).
440 Section 42. Blue Star Memorial Highway designated;
441 Department of Transportation to erect suitable markers.—
442 (1) That portion of State Road 674 between U.S. Highway
443 301/State Road 43 and Interstate 75/State Road 93A in
444 Hillsborough County is designated as “Blue Star Memorial
445 Highway.”
446 (2) The Department of Transportation is directed to erect
447 suitable markers designating Blue Star Memorial Highway as
448 described in subsection (1).
449 Section 43. Historic Biscayne Boulevard: Gateway to Miami
450 designated; Department of Transportation to erect suitable
451 markers.—
452 (1) That portion of U.S. 1 (Biscayne Boulevard) between
453 N.E. 87th Avenue and S.E. 3rd Street in Miami-Dade County is
454 designated as “Historic Biscayne Boulevard: Gateway to Miami.”
455 (2) The Department of Transportation is directed to erect
456 suitable markers designating Historic Biscayne Boulevard:
457 Gateway to Miami as described in subsection (1).
458 Section 44. Biscayne Park Way designated; Department of
459 Transportation to erect suitable markers.—
460 (1) That portion of Northeast 6th Avenue between Northeast
461 113th and 121st Street in Miami-Dade County is designated as
462 “Biscayne Park Way.”
463 (2) The Department of Transportation is directed to erect
464 suitable markers designating Biscayne Park Way as described in
465 subsection (1).
466 Section 45. This act shall take effect July 1, 2010.
