    1                        A bill to be entitled                      
    2         An act relating to postsecondary education fee
    3         waivers; amending s. 1009.26, F.S.; authorizing state
    4         universities and community colleges to waive tuition
    5         and fees for public school instructional personnel for
    6         certain courses; defining public school instructional
    7         personnel; providing an effective date.

    9  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
   10  
   11         Section 1. Subsection (10) is added to section 1009.26,
   12  Florida Statutes, to read:
   13         1009.26 Fee waivers.—
   14         (10) A state university or community college may waive
   15  tuition and fees for full-time public school instructional
   16  personnel who meet academic requirements for up to 6 credit
   17  hours per term for courses approved by the Department of
   18  Education. For purposes of this subsection, public school
   19  instructional personnel are K-12 personnel defined in s.
   20  1012.01(2)
   21         Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2010.
