    1                        A bill to be entitled                      
    2         An act relating to a review of the Department of State
    3         under the Florida Government Accountability Act;
    4         reenacting s. 20.10(2)(c), F.S., relating to the
    5         Division of Corporations within the department;
    6         providing an effective date.

    8         WHEREAS, ss. 11.901-11.920, Florida Statutes, the Florida
    9  Government Accountability Act, subjects the Division of
   10  Corporations within the Department of State to a sunset review
   11  process in order to determine whether the agency should be
   12  retained, modified, or abolished, and
   13         WHEREAS, the Department of State produced a report
   14  providing specific information, as enumerated in s. 11.906,
   15  Florida Statutes, and
   16         WHEREAS, upon receipt of the report, the Joint Legislative
   17  Sunset Committee and committees of the Senate and the House of
   18  Representatives assigned to act as sunset review committees
   19  reviewed the report and requested studies by the Office of
   20  Program Policy Analysis and Government Accountability, and
   21         WHEREAS, based on the report, studies by the Office of
   22  Program Policy Analysis and Government Accountability, and
   23  public input, the legislative sunset review committees made
   24  recommendations on the abolition, continuation, or
   25  reorganization of the Division of Corporations within the
   26  Department of State; on the need for the functions performed by
   27  this division; and on the consolidation, transfer, or
   28  reorganization of programs within the Department of State under
   29  review, NOW, THEREFORE,

   31  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
   32  
   33         Section 1. Paragraph (c) of subsection (2) of section
   34  20.10, Florida Statutes, is reenacted.
   35         Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2010.
