3     Amendment (with title amendment)
4     Between lines 6337 and 6338, insert:
5     Section 111.  The Department of Education and the
6Department of Environmental Protection shall, in coordination
7with representatives of the business community, the
8environmental community, and the energy community, develop a
9program to provide awards or recognition for outstanding efforts
10or achievements concerning conservation, reductions in energy
11and water use, green cleaning solutions, green pest management,
12recycling efforts, and curriculum development that is consistent
13with efforts that enhance the quality of education while
14preserving the environment. Entities that are eligible for such
15an award or recognition include students, classes, teachers,
16schools, or district school boards. The Legislature encourages
17the Department of Education and the Department of Environmental
18Protection to form partnerships with the private sector to help
19fund the program.
