| The WWCB Project provides one-on-one on-going early intervention and/or prevention services through a 24-month mentoring and coaching relationship designed to expand the knowledge and experiences of "at risk" African-American children and teens in grades 3 to 12 in enterprise areas. Project Activities are as follows: • One (1) Hour session with child at school, home or office each week. • One (1) Parent Group Session each month. • Child Involvement in one (1) or more school/community activities. • 7 day-a-week Access for coaching/mentoring. • Focus on child/teens: Academic Achievement - Gifted, Honors, AP coursework; standard achievement test mastery ; improve reading comprehension, writing skills, study habits, computer usage. Personality Assessment - Myers Briggs Type to learn leadership potential for future career development. Goal Setting - teach each child/teen to set and achieve short and long term goals. Communication - teach basic communication Relationship Building - family, teacher, friends, people encountered in community. Extra Curricular Activities - participate in school and community activities. | |||||||||

| • Improved Academic Standing as measured by success on standardized tests and/or the child/teen's GPA; number of AP classes taken during high school years. • Improved School Attendance Rates as measured by number of days in school • Increased Parent Involvement as measured by attendance at school and community family activities with child/teen. • Increased knowledge of school resources as measured by child/teen's increased use of existing resources. • College Admissions to Top Colleges as measured by number of college acceptance letters and/or scholarship awards by number of participants who graduate from a 4-year institution within 4 years. • Improved relationships as measured by objective feedback from family, teachers, and friends. • Improved Self-Confidence as measured by improvement in above areas. | |||||||||
