Registration Information

Registration:
Due to limited seating, we have to limit our attendance for this year's Summit to 350 attendees. Registration for the Summit will be accepted on a first come first serve basis. Since attendance is limited, if you would like to verify receipt of your registration and fee, beginning the week of January 10, we will update our website (see below) daily with a list of registrations received. Once your registration has been received, if you decide to send someone in your place, we must be notified in writing by no later than January 26, 2000. If your registration form and fee arrive after we have reached our capacity, your name will not be posted on our website and we will forward your check back to you as soon as possible. We will not be able to accept phone, Internet, or faxed registrations.

Registration Fee:
Due to the response last year and the costs incurred, we have found it necessary to charge a registration fee to partially offset the expenditures. The registration fee is a $50 non-refundable fee. Please make checks payable to the "Senate Miscellaneous Fund" and return with your registration form in the enclosed self-addressed envelope. Please do not mail the check under separate cover. Since registration is on a first come first serve basis, if your registration form is received without the fee, we will not be able to accept it. We are not able to accept credit cards or purchase orders.

Reception at Governor's Mansion
The Governor and Mrs. Bush have graciously offered to host a reception at the Governor's Mansion on February the 10th from 5:30-7:00 p.m. to launch the Florida Statewide Drug Control Summit. Please check the appropriate box on the registration form if you plan to attend. A formal invitation from the Governor and Mrs. Bush will be sent to you at a later date.

Continental Breakfast
We will provide a continental breakfast for all participants the morning of the Summit. When available, the location and time will be posted on our website.

Lunch and Keynote Speaker
We will provide a boxed lunch and a beverage to participants the day of the Summit. Please indicate on the registration form if you require a vegetarian lunch. The keynote speaker will address the Summit participants during the lunch hour. When available, details regarding our keynote speaker will be posted on our website.

Meeting Packets
Meeting packets will not be mailed. Participants will pick up their packets at our registration table at pre-registration the evening before the Summit or the morning of the Summit. Firm times and locations will be posted on our website once available.

Workgroups:
The participants will break into four workgroups listed below which are tentatively scheduled to meet between 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 noon at which point participants will be able to actively participate in a discussion regarding the subject of their workgroup. Please indicate your first and second choice as to which workgroup you would like to register for on the attached registration form. We will make every attempt to place you within your first choice but because of our room capacities we may have to place some participants in their second choice. More information regarding the workgroups will be made available on our website at a later date.

To assist you in parking the day of the Summit, we will be posting a downtown parking map on our website.

Summit Live Via Internet
If you are not able to attend the Summit, you can view live video coverage of the Summit on our website. During the workgroup sessions, we will only be able to broadcast one group live at a time and will try to move from group to group. Complete coverage of the Summit and all workgroups will be available on our website at a later date following the Summit.

Local Broadcasting Coverage
We are arranging for local broadcasting of the Summit but do not have a listing at this time. We will place the information on our website as it becomes available.
