121.133  Cancellation of uncashed warrants.--Notwithstanding the provisions of s. 17.26 or s. 717.123 to the contrary, effective July 1, 1998, if any state warrant issued by the Comptroller for the payment of retirement benefits from the Florida Retirement System Trust Fund, or any other pension trust fund administered by the department, is not presented for payment within 1 year after the last day of the month in which it was originally issued, the Comptroller shall cancel the benefit warrant and credit the amount of the warrant to the Florida Retirement System Trust Fund or other pension trust fund administered by the department, as appropriate. The department may provide for issuance of a replacement warrant when deemed appropriate.
